2023 Covale Cellars "Quintessence" Cabernet Franc

Winemaker Marv Crumm's ability to coax a world-class wine out of the Cabernet Franc grape is remarkable and noteworthy. Expect a deep, dark, rich wine with a tantalizing blend of blue and red fruits with just enough oak to give it depth without being overdone. Beginning with Covale's first Cab Franc release in 2020, each and every year have made a considerable impression for what's possible from this often overlooked varietal. In Bordeaux, it's used as a component in blends for many of the world's very best wines. But on it's own, when made this way, it would be a shame to blend it, with a ripeness, polish, and balance that is deserving of being showcased by itself.
